An Astonishing Thing Happened

I was walking along Bridge Road in Richmond on Sunday afternoon and decided to have a quick look in the Red Cross op shop.

I walked in the door to find a group of people sitting in a circle and weaving what looked like an enormous spider's web.  I was immediately invited to join the circle and was handed a ball of coloured wool.  The idea was that you twisted your wool around your chair leg and all the other wool and then threw your ball of wool to someone else in the circle.  If you got the yellow ball of wool you could ask a question of someone in the circle and so it went.

The end result will be a piece of woven fabric which can be made into something and then sold, with the proceeds going to the Red Cross.

All the wool was donated.  The lady on the left is a Korean artist who masterminded the project.  The guy on the right works for the Red Cross and organised everything.
