I have been making miniature bunting using pages from old children's books, but now I have added to the bunting collection by using ripped calico squares threaded on industrial string.
A brief interruption to my sequence of Brisbane photos to show you what I have been making since we got back, in preparation for the Unwrapped South Perth market later this month.
It is miniature bunting (each flag is no bigger than 8cms) made out of vintage paper and grosgrain ribbon.
There is something very cheerful about bunting and it is a very easy way to brighten up a space.
You can make it out of scraps of colourful material or even out of old paper (as I have done).
There is a great little online store called http://www.festoon.com.au/ where you can buy bunting if the prospect of getting tangled up in thread and tape and triangles of fabric is too daunting.
