Out in the Park

I took our dog for a walk in Hyde Park the other day, and it was wonderful to see so many people (and ducks) out and about enjoying the beautiful Autumn weather in the park.

Paddling...

Sitting...

Reading......

Cycling......

And the carpet of golden leaves in the only hint that it's actually Autumn!

Hyde Park Take 2

Not long ago I did a post bemoaning the sorry state of Hyde Park after the long hot Summer - the lakes were almost empty and the birds had almost all left.

How things change after a week of heavy rain....

Hyde Park, Perth

What's happened to Hyde Park?

There is hardly any water left in the lakes and the  disconsolate ducks spend most of their time fossicking for food on the grass.

(seems ironic when there is hardly any water and even less water birds!)

I know Perth has just endured the driest summer ever but surely one of the City's oldest and most beautiful parks should not have to suffer the indignity of lakes with no water but instead a dank musty smell?
