Paper Christmas Wreath

You need 100 leaves cut out of paper, a circle cut out of card, an hour of your time and lots of patience if you want to end up with one of these:

This one was my prototype.  I have now started combining the sheet music leaves with coloured pages for a different effect.

Look out for them at the Fremantle Bazaar in early December.

Christmas Crackers

I have used some pages out of a really old volume of The Girls Own Paper to make Christmas crackers.  The spine had completely disintegrated and the pages were all falling out so it seemed only fitting to use them for something festive.

I will have them at my stall at the Craft Markets at the Claremont Showgrounds tomorrow (Friday 18) and also at Upmarket at UWA on Sunday 27 November.

Paper Lanterns

This weekend I made some tiny paper lanterns out of vintage atlas paper.  I added a little wire loop so that they could be hung up as decorations.  Possibly even Christmas decorations?

I know it's a little early to be thinking of Christmas, but applications for stalls at some of the Christmas markets around Perth are already starting to circulate so that has forced me to start thinking ahead.

I was down south for the weekend again and continued my Christmas decorating.

These ceramic birds are from Remedy, which has now opened a store in Dunsborough.

This is just a spray of a native tree which I have put in an old milk bottle.

And this is a tiny tree from Little Design Horse which is on Angove Street in North Perth.

It's the perfect size for a mantlepiece or a shelf.

Christmas Birds

This is the first year I have ever started decorating for Christmas in the month of November, mainly because I couldn't wait to see how the beautiful paper birds which I got from Storia would look.

I was pretty pleased with the result and have decorated my whole tree just with birds.

I made my own paper bird decorations last Christmas but they took forever to make and I now seem to have only one left which hangs from the desk light in my work area.

This year I decided to experiment with bird gift tags instead, and I will have some for sale at the Fremantle Bazaar next weekend.

I just can't seem to get past birds!
